Do You Have the Attitude of Gratitude
Hey fam! HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours! May we all be blessed with a day of Abundance surrounded by our friends or family and filled with peace, love, light and of course Gratitude. Gratitude. Such a simple word to convey so much meaning. Studies have shown time and again that Gratitude is the one essential feeling state necessary for Happiness. You may not have EVERY THING you ever wanted, chances are you do not, but to experience Gratitude, and in turn, Happiness, you must at least recognize the miracle of abundance in some aspect of your life. Rather than pining for what you DON'T have, acknowlege that you WANT some of what you DO have. Hence, in order to experience True Happiness it is important to cultivate a feeling of Gratitude, or "Attitude of Gratitude." How? Start by taking a few quiet minutes to yourself today to really experience Gratitude in the Now. This can be done in many ways...count your blessings, make a gratitude list, do a gratitude meditation, offer blessings to others, pray for world healing or an individual's recovery, or simply treat everyone with compassion and kindness. Make this practice part of your daily routine, ideally at the start of your day or before you retire at the end of your day. Seize "GRATITUDE Moments" through-out the day...while in the shower or in line at the bank, during the morning commute, while waiting for the bus...quick mental reminders or affirmations that arouse a feeling of Gratitude can be squeezed into any spare minute of the day. After a month of Gratitude Practice, evaluate your level of Happiness. Do you notice any difference(s) in your life? Let me know! I would love to hear some feedback from you, whether it be on this post, or a previous one. Please leave your comments! I appreciate and value your input, in addition to your readership! Happy Thanksgiving! ~ Lisa @Scorpiol13

"If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution - then, it seems to me, all our problems (and not merely the one small problem of discovering a novel pleasure) would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise." What Do We Desire? (as asked on Quora)
We desire to feel happiness through connection to another human being, to feel we belong, we are loved, we matter to someone. We desire to be free from pain & suffering, or lessen the perception/feeling of suffering. Lastly, I believe we inherently desire some sort of spiritual (not necessarily religious) connection, whether this desire be conscious or unconscious.
Any comments? I'd love to hear from ya!

Troy Davis - A Time to Kill?
No human being has the right to pass judgment on or take the life of another human being. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Only GOD may judge. In this country we will fight ardently to protect the rights of unborn life yet we tolerate and even support the denial of the right to life of a living human being who has memories, feelings, interpersonal connections and life experience, one who may even be innocent of the crime he is being punished for. We create more victims by perpetuating this cyclical "eye for an eye" mentality, callously writing off as collateral damage the grief & suffering of the forsaken's innocent family members. Yet we (as a country) claim to be a "Civilized Society" & "leader of the free world"...REALLY???

From Detox to Dharma
I believe Spirituality, in contrast, is “the Unity of the Masses.” Essentially INclusive, it UNITES the entire Universe as ONE. It reflects our personal connection, or relationship, with our Higher Power…with our Higher Self, each other, nature, the Universe and all that is divine.
In conclusion, I am unimpressed by Religion and the hypocricy it spreads through the masses like a contagious disease. I am currently engaged in spiritual pursuits, working on deepening my connection with my higher power and my higher self. I am exploring spiritual practices based on Ancient Eastern philosophies such as Buddhism (as a philosophy rather than a religion), meditation, metaphysics, Law of Attraction, and various mantras and teachings of the many spiritual leaders and gurus of India.
Suffering Optional: The Power of Thoughts
Hey! Guess what? I get it! NOW is all we really have, isn’t it? This moment is happening right NOW so may as well be in it, right? Here’s my plan…first and foremost I’M DOING ME! I am practicing Mindfulness through meditation and positive affirmations. I am learning to focus my attention on what is happening NOW, choosing positive thoughts, maintaining present moment Awareness. I am making progress, taking baby steps to gain control of my life. I am working on acceptance of WHAT IS, rather than aiming for perfection. I am practicing patience (that elusive virtue trying to live life one moment at a time, slowing down to experience life as it unfolds. Living life on life’s terms. I AM…forever a work in Progress…as we all are…as life is. Perfection is illusory…a lie…but Progress is REAL!
Keep it Real y’all! Thanks for listening to/reading my ramblings on "Blog This!"

"Lake of Fire" or "Serenity on the Horizon"
For me, the first word that came to mind was "Serenity." Then "Beauty", followed by "Mesmerizing." I feel calm and peaceful yet inspired as the visual imagery metaphorically caresses my eyes. The title "Lake Placid" initially came to mind as I gazed upon the still waters, but then my eyes focused on the ball of fire, the sun, looming large as if emerging from beneath the water's surface. Hence, my title "Lake of Fire." Yet the overall vibe I get from the scene as a whole is one of serenity, inspiring my alternate title "Serenity on the Horizon." But that's me...I'm just sayin' :-)

Bit Rebels – How To: Make Vodka Spiked Gummy Bears
Oh hell yes! You know that Misty and I are big fans of gummy bears. We write about them a lot! As a matter of fact, we should probably own stock in gummy bears; lord knows we eat enough of them. However, these gummy bears are special. They are drunk! This is the time of year when many people
